Computers have become technical analysis tools for the recognition and application of investing systems. The focus of our study group is to understand and recognize the advantages and limitations of a defined software approach to investing.
Our education goal is to describe the construction and application of popular measuring indicators that users will be able to apply in a knowledgeable manner. Trend recognition and strength are key to riding more profitable investment vehicles. Flexible software packages such as AmiBroker, Portfolio123 and MetaStock incorporate most of the indicator systems usually employed in the back-testing strategies presented.

We meet the first Wednesday of a quarter, if that is not a holiday, at the Comfort Inn Pittsburgh East (Comfort Inn Directions). By joining our AAII Pittsburgh Chapter email list you will benotified of the meeting agenda and driving directions. A modest fee offsets room and equipment expenses.
Our meetings start at 7 PM and incorporate a tutorial on a specific indicator construction and application, its employment in a trading system, and an overview of the current market. AAII members and visitors are encouraged to participate; we are in a learning process. Application of investment approaches are the user’s responsibility, not the presenter or AAII organization.
